Automotorsisport.ro – Eldrive Romania and JOY Retail Park are inaugurating electric vehicle charging stations.

The first result of the collaboration is in Calafat, Dolj County, where the charging stations have just been put into operation. Next up are Sovata (Mureș County), followed by Dorohoi and Roznov (Neamț County).

At JOY Retail Park in Calafat, two ABB charging stations are available in this phase, equipped with DC 50 kW and AC 22 kW sockets, capable of simultaneously charging four electric vehicles.

“Now we have Eldrive Romania electric vehicle charging services in Calafat, an important point on the map. This creates a bridge with our colleagues at Eldrive Bulgaria, who provide charging services at a strategic gas station on the other side of the Danube. Charging can be done through the Eldrive Romania app, both for using the network in our country and in Bulgaria,” said Camelia Popescu (Sin), Country Manager of Eldrive Romania.

The Eldrive Romania charging stations at JOY Retail Park are located less than 20 kilometers from the Eldrive station in Bulgaria, at an OMV gas station. Currently, Eldrive Romania users in the Calafat-Vidin area have access to three charging stations. They are useful for both shopping center customers and people in transit.

“Calafat has not had fast charging stations for electric vehicles until now, and we are happy to introduce the first ones through our partnership with Eldrive Romania. In addition to the variety of retail spaces we offer our customers, we can now also provide electric vehicle charging in Calafat, and soon in all JOY Retail Park projects across Romania,” said Adrian Păcuraru, CEO of Pro Development, the owner of the JOY Retail Park brand.

Eldrive stations at JOY Retail Park can be activated through several methods:

• The Eldrive Romania mobile app;
• Via an RFID card, requested from Eldrive Romania;
• Using the Autocharge feature, available for all DC stations with a CCS connector (not for CHAdeMO or Type 2).

For future charging hubs in Sovata, Dorohoi, and Roznov, Eldrive Romania and JOY plan to install stations with similar power but with different connector configurations.

This is just the beginning of the collaboration between Eldrive Romania and JOY. Both companies aim to expand the partnership to other locations in Romania, with the number of available stations expected to grow at an accelerated pace.
